Should I take a course in grant writing and administration or leadership skills and strategies?
Well I need to register for an extra course, and I am debating whether or not to take grant writing and administration or leadership skills and strategies.Grant writing and admin is a great course and would be a very good skill to learn. However, a lot of businesses and agencies place a lot of importance on leadership skills. However, leadership skills seems like the easier class. Should I still choose it over grant writing?
My boss is saying I lack leadership skills?
I have recently been promoted to a supervisor of a small office. I have no previous management experience, but she was very happy with my performance in my previous position. I have only been at my new job for a month and she knows that I am relying heavily on her for guidance, etc. I feel I am doing the best job I can, trying to get acclimated to a new office, new people, etc. It's been overwhelming, but I feel I'm doing the best job I can, trying to stay compliant with company policy, trying to learn and educate myself about all that transpires on a daily basis, etc. Today she basically roasted me telling me she doesn't even see a glimmer of leadership qualities yet, that I should be " out there" in the neighborhood, marketing, getting to know area merchants, etc., and observing my staff... and that she is very disappointed.. I really feel she hasn't given me enough time to feel that way.. it's only been one month Is she testing me?
Where can I find people with strong leadership skills to train to work from home?
I already advertise on craiglist and monster.com with decent results, but I need some innovative ideas. Please do not suggest places that are filled with get rich quick schemes as my company is a solid company, registered with the US Chamber of Commerce, National Health Alliance, Dental Association and Direct Sellers Association. I work at a job that pays an hourly wage. I want to move up into management, however I have no management experience. My superior told me that, in order to move up, I need to develop more leadership skills, such as delegating work and managing time. How can I do this without appearing like an asshole to my co workers?

Corporal in cadets (leadership skills)?
i have recently been promoted to a corporal in the air cadets... and i havent really been shouting at people to keep quiet etc... every one has made a big deal out of it that it makes me nervous and shy when i do shout..any tips on what to do to keep everyone in order and build confidence etc
